Happy Anniversary!
Well October 2 was Alison and I first wedding anniversary. We've had an incredible year, a tonne of stuff has happened. We've had too additions to the family, new jobs, a new house, a lots of sea miles under us? Such a great time. This probably sounds really cheesy, but these past 12 months have been the best I can remember.
We went to Ottawa to look through some of Alison's grandparent's things. (Alison's parents have just sold the house and are in the process of clearing things out.) We were offered some great furniture for our house and I was totally delighted to have anything I wanted from Dr. Fraser's library.
Some of the books that we found were absolutely stunning, I felt guilty taking some of them. I've been piecing together a rather humble library of books for years, and this was an absolute windfall. Shakespeare's collected works c 1890, Biblical encyclopaedias c 1850, poetry books from various authors, and one curious little book dated 1762, written in Latin. We also managed to acquire a great bookcase with flip up glass doors. Should look amazing when we get it back to Kingston. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait to go through them all in the new house.
I hope that our second year of marriage will be half as exciting and fulfilling as this past year has been. I guess it?s up to us to make that happen?
